What are dash cameras (or dash cams)?

A dash camera (also known as a “dash cam”) is a camera mounted in a truck or vehicle that monitors what is happening on the road, in real-time, and often can also monitor the driver to help prevent accidents and be a “witness” just in case an accident does occur.

Dash cameras are utilized in fleets and the trucking industry to monitor the road and driver, but can also be utilized in driver training.
