Daytime running lamps, sometimes shortened to DRL or referred to as daytime running lights, are lighting devices placed on vehicles that switch on based on the status of the vehicle starting or going into an active mode. Daytime running lamps aren’t for the purpose of visibility, however, but instead allow other drivers (or pedestrians) on the road to see the vehicle.
