What is Team Driving?

Team driving is a term used in professional driving to refer to the practice of two drivers sharing the drive time of one vehicle by taking turns driving. Driving as a team is beneficial when transporting high-value cargo that needs to keep moving, and it’s helpful in properly following the hours of service rules set by FMCSA. When one driver is at the wheel and on-duty, the other off-duty driver might rest in the sleeper or in the passenger seat.
