What is the 70-Hour Rule?

The 70-Hour Rule refers to the limit put on drivers once they’ve been on-duty for 70 hours in an eight day period (or 60 hours in a 7-day span). A driver cannot exceed this time and can no longer drive once they’ve hit the 70-hour or 60-hour limit, which depends on the carrier’s operating schedule and if they their drivers are active every day of the week or not.
